Sentimental Ramblings

Courtesy of weheartit.com
Sorry for the lack of blog posts recently girlies, I've had a very hectic and exciting couple of weeks.
Most of you will know that I was at university training to be a nurse...well the day has finally come that I have graduated and am now a real qualified NURSE!! Now I don't mean to blow my own trumpet but I am so very proud of myself as I finally have my dream job and have achieved something that no one can ever take away from me. I've put in so much hard work and am extremely glad that it has paid off.

Throughout my training there were times that I thought nursing wasn't the career for me and wanted to give up but there were two reasons as to why I continued and am where I am today. I'm not one for mushy gushy speeches and I don't want this to sound like an Oscar winning speech but I really do want to thank my dad and my beautiful mum who is in heaven  (Queue the life story ha)!

When I was fourteen months old and my sister was three years old, my mum tragically passed away after a two year battle with a rare heart disease. There's not a day that goes by where I don't think of mum and wish that she were still here, as I was so young when she passed away I have no memory of her, but I have pictures and stories from friends and family that prove she was a beautiful person inside and out! I hope that as I achieved my dream job she is proud of me and I'd love to be able to tell her that she has been my inspiration and how much I miss her!

My dad is the second reason I am as happy as I am now, he has brought my sister and I up single handily from a very young age and I think he has done a fantastic job, even if I do say so myself haha!! I would never have been able to achieve what I have so far without him always putting my sister and I first. I am so grateful as I know so many men that say they wouldn't have been able to cope and I am very proud to say that he is my dad.

I have to admit that I shed a tear writing this post, becoming a nurse means more to me than just a job as I have had the chance to prove that no matter what your family circumstances are, you can make something of your life and do something that not only will make others proud of you but will make you proud of yourself!

Hope you've all had a fantastic couple of weeks xxx

Estee Lauder Lipsticks

You may, or may not know (or care ha) that I LOVE lipsticks. Now as a student I tend to have very little money, but one of my guilty pleasures, and something I like to splash out on, are Estee Lauder Pure Colour Lipsticks!! They are very pricey at £18 a go, some may think this is an obscene amount of money to spend on one lipstick but I find that the product itself justifies spending that much money. Appearance wise, they come in solid, shiny golden tubes which makes them sleek, sturdy and sophisticated. They have a flat bottom, which makes them easy to store standing upright and the Estee Lauder logo is embossed on the top of the lid. The pigmentation of the lipsticks are A.mazing and the colour is longlasting (what more can you want from a lipstick?). They are non drying and don't leave your lips feeling like they have a lot of product on! The finish is either a shimmer or a creme finish which suits either a natural look or an evening look. I have 7 shades from the Pure Colour Long Lasting range and two of them (Fig and Candy) are in my favourite lipsticks post which you can find here.

Left to Right: Barely Nude, Candy Shimmer, Rose Tea, Exotic Orchid, Candy, Tiger Eye,  Fig

Barely Nude With Flash

Barely Nude is my newest edition to my collection, therefore I felt it needed an individual photo to show how beautiful it is!!I think Melon Shimmer and Vanilla truffle Creme will be making their way into my collection very soon!

If you love lipsticks like me and want to splurge on a good quality, high-end lipstick, then I would highly  recommend any Estee Lauder Pure Colour Lipstick as they are pretty much perfect in every way! ♥.

P.S
I would like to say a big thank you to Emma from Eyeshadow and Glitter for awarding me the Versatile Blogger Award. To be honest I wasn't too sure what it was but I'm really grateful for it and really appreciate that she took the time to award it to me
♥.

I Break The Rules

Now I'm not one to follow every single so called "beauty rule" as I am a rebel!!!! The beauty rule I break the most is skipping the important parts of a skincare routine. Now it's not because I don't like using the products or don't see the benefits of using them as I really do, but it just comes down to practicality and mainly laziness.
I would love nothing more than to give my skin a good old efoliate, cleanse, tone and mositurise every single morning and night, but due to the fact that I love a good sleep and that I'm always rushing to get ready this just doesn't happen every single day. Sometimes if I'm really tired lazy I won't remove my make up at all and just sleep with make up on. I know its disgusting and really bad for my skin but we've all done it once or twice right?
I have three methods of cleansing and removing my make up and it starts with the laziest and ends with, lets face it, the best and most productive way :
♥ 1. Remove make up with a cleansing facial wipe (very lazy)
♥ 2. Apply a cream cleanser (which can be done in my bedroom) and remove with a cotton pad
♥ 3. Trek all the way across the landing to the bathroom and use Liz Earle's Cleanse and Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser

Now each of these methods removes my makeup fairly well, to be fair Liz Earle's cleanse and polish is definitley the best method as it leaves my skin feeling amazing after it but sometimes I'm just to damn lazy to make that 5 second walk to the bathroom.
Using toner is a step that I always seem to miss, I have Liz Earle's Instant Boost Skin Tonic and I really love the way my skin feels afte I have used it but I just seem to forget to do this. Moisturing is one part of a skincare routine that I will never ever miss, this is because I have very dry skin. The moisturiser I'm currently using is Clinique's Superdefense SPF 25 moisturiser. It works really well for my skin, it's non greasy and leaves my skin feeling beautifully soft. I know its an age defense moisturiser and I'm not worried about wrinkles right now but I got a sample a few moths back and loved it so much that I had to buy it again.

My skincare routine isn't very exciting, I tend to stick to these few products and just alternate them depending on my laziness. I'm not coming off too well in this post am I haha!! Hope you've all had a lovely week, the sun is shining today and I'm now going to enjoy some Pizza express with my bestie!! Adios ♥.
